This is a unit of work which includes 5 lessons. I will be putting them on individually aswell if you just want one of the lessons Lesson 1 - To understand that sadness is felt by everyone at some point in thier lives Lesson 2 - to understand what physically happens when we die and how the death of a person is marked and commemorated in the Christian religion. Lesson 3 - Islamic views on life after death Lesson 4 - Hindu views on life after death Lesson 5 - non religious views on life after death Each lesson has a powerpoint and then a task at the end to complete. I have put 1 or 2 tasks on each lesson and then sometimes an extension task.

This is a full lesson discussing what a parable is with a key vocab slide with missing words. It then concentrates on two stories - the house built on sand and water and the lost coin. there is a link to watch a you tube video of the stories. Once they have watched a discussion needs to take place about the meaning behind the story. Then the children stick in a picture and write the meaning behind each story.

This is a full lesson that discusses each day of Holy Week and what happened to Jesus. The children then have to write what happens on the main days. there is a differentiated section where they match up the day with a statement.

Powerpoint . reminds children of the easter story .discusses what happens on easter day in churches now and what is important about it. .work = acrostic poem using a word related to Easter

This powerpoint has two complete lessons included 1st lesson - introduces new vocabulary, extract of the story from the bible, discusses if the story is a symbolic or literal truth, includes one interpretation. The children then have to order the story and explain if they think the story is the literal truth or symbolic 2nd lesson - recap of the story through a video, key vocabulary, includes the artwork from: Johann Wenzel Peter - Adam and Eve in the Earthly Paradise (1800-1829) Benjamin West - The Expulsion of Adam and Eve from Paradise (1791) there is an explanation to what these paintings symbolise for the work the children stick in the paintings and write an explanation of them

Starts with vocab slides for that session Discusses what the Qur’an is and why it is important for Muslims There is a short recitation of the Bismillah and what that is/ what is means Looks at how we can represent people through pictures or words. There are two slides - one with just words and they have to guess who the character is and then a following slide with pictures and they have to guess who the character is. Then a discussion is needed as to which is best - words or picrtures. Then it looks at how Muslims believe it is better for Allah to be described through words (99 names) and it shows then the first 5 names that Muslims refer to Allah as. There is then a comprehension style task (answers included) Then as an extension they have to design a poster to help people remember some of Allah’s 99 names.
